Palm Cove Mechanical Project

TPG's Mechanical Division is currently engaged by Tyche Asset Management to carry out chilled water system upgrades and rectification works at Hilton Palm Cove.

The works include the installation of a 200NB Optivent Air & Dirt Separator to the chilled water return main, along with modifications to the existing carbon steel and copper chilled water pipework.

All welded steel connections are completed according to an approved Welding Procedure Specification (WPS), including pipe preparation, controlled fit-up, root and fill passes, and inspection of completed welds before pressure testing and commissioning.

The new separator will help remove suspended solids and entrained gases within the chilled water circuit, protecting the chillers, primary and secondary pumps, control valves and associated plant once the system is online.

As part of the wider project, our team also performed acoustic leak detection across the inground chilled water reticulation network, identifying and repairing several major leaks that had impacted progress.

Our civil crew is also installing new valve pits throughout the chilled water network to improve access to isolation points for future servicing, fault finding and ongoing maintenance.
